This course reviews typography’s history, theory, and practice applied to different design and visual communication areas. The three projects conducted in this course cover typography structure and anatomy principles. Through this course, the student will have a broad understanding of the history and antecedents of typography, improve technical skills for digital composition, create compelling compositions of visual and textual content, and improve their conceptualizing skills. The student will also understand typographic terms and identify components in the letterform anatomy.

Typography 2
PV067:
This course provides theoretical and practical knowledge for editorial design. Students will work on two projects: the first one with focus on book design, while the second project looks at the layout of complex information. At the end of the course, students will know the basic principles of book design, will be able to elaborate designs for book covers and will be able to project a complete book. This course includes practical skills in Adobe InDesign and knowledge of typesetting and typographic rules.
