This lecture series will introduce students to different corner of visual communication. The topics of the lectures are, for example, non-verbal communication, the history of the study of the anatomy of facial expressions and its current use of this knowledge in the creation of game and film digital characters, explaining the display of different types of depiction of perspective, space and and its construction as we know it from Rennaisance, a complex problem of the panoramatic picture, which have an impact on the possibilities thinking about the virtual environment. 
Furthermore, there is of course an interpretation of the relationship between visual perception and interpretation of what is seen, the relationship between reading and image and seeing the writen words.
Another topic is principles of Gestalt psychology. What is a sign and its forms from pictogram to symbol is the content of the semiotics, which is crucial in visula communication. The areas of graphic design, type design
and typography, their principles, basic terminology and historical background are explained in more detail.
